Do you like sleeping in until the last minute?  Do you hit the snooze button?  Do you find that you do not have time to workout after work?  If you answered yes to these questions, maybe you have wished you were a morning person so you could workout in the morning.  Today, I am going to share 5 ways to help you start working out in the morning.

1. Alarm Clock

If you have your alarm clock or phone next to your bed, move it across the room so that you have to get out of bed to shut it off.  This makes it harder to hit the snooze button.  When your feet touch the floor, you can say “Thank you God for giving me this day.”  I find that if I’m full of gratitude in the morning, it is easier for me to want to start my day.

2. Motivating Music

I’m not sure about you, but I love music.  Music lifts up my mood and gives me energy.  If you have an alarm clock where you can set the sound to be a song, use this feature and make it a motivating song.

Here are some of my wakeup songs:

3. Workout Clothes

To save time in the morning you can set out your workout clothes and shoes the night before your workout.  I decide what I’m wearing and then put the clothes in the bathroom.  The next morning I do not have to think about what to wear.  I put my clothes in the bathroom because I do not have to worry about turning the lights on or being quiet and waking up my husband.  Another option would be to wear your workout clothes to bed.  This options will save you even more time.  I do not do this as I do not want to sleep in a tight sports bra.  Let’s face it-sports bras are not always comfy.

4. Energize

If you are worried about having enough energy in the morning to workout, you can try the pre-workout drink I drink before every workout.  Before my workouts, I drink Energize.  It wakes me up and helps me crush my workout.  I do not crash after drinking it which is a bonus.  Click this link to learn more about Energize.

5. Reasons

I believe being reminded of why you want something is very powerful and motivating.  The night before you workout you can remind yourself why you want to workout in the morning.  You can do this when you go to bed.  Reminding yourself of this will hopefully make waking up to workout easier.  You could even write down your reasons for wanting to workout in the morning on a post it note.  Then you can put the post it note on your alarm clock.  When the alarm clock goes off in the morning, you will see your post it note and all your reasonings will be staring you in the face.
