You have probably heard that drinking water is important. Well, it is! At a minimum, a person should drink half of their body weight in ounces each day. Are you drinking enough? Today, I am going to share three benefits of drinking water. Cheers!
Benefit #1 Feel Full
If you start drinking at least half your body weight in ounces each day, you may notice that you do not seem as hungry. Sometimes we can mistake hunger for being thirsty. To know if you are actually hungry or thirsty, try drinking 8oz of water before eating. If you are still hungry after drinking 8oz of water, eat. You may start realizing you actually were thirsty and not hungry all the time. Once you realize this, you will most likely start eating less. Doing this may actually help you lose weight. (Bonus)
Benefit #2 Flush Out Toxins
Our bodies can be full of toxins. Where do these toxins come from you ask? According to www.bodyecology.com, toxins can come from air, water, food, drugs & tobacco, household & personal care products and even stress. Water helps flush out these toxins in our body. You may have noticed that water is listed as maybe having toxins and here I am telling you to drink water. Filtered water is best. If you are buying flavored or sparkling water, check the ingredients on the label as it can contain artificial flavors which would be toxins. I do not want my body full of toxins so if drinking water flushes out the toxins, I am going to do it! 🙂
Benefit #3 Clearer Skin
Yes drinking water can help clear up your skin. This benefit kind of goes along with benefit #2. Some toxins can do damage to our skin. I have seen that when I eat a lot of processed foods or fast foods for at least a week, I will develop a pimple on my face. 🙁 Maybe some of you can relate to me and have experienced this also. Maybe some of you will start to notice a correlation between processed foods or fast foods and blemishes. This is because processed foods and fast foods have toxins. When we eat these foods, the toxins enter our body. By drinking enough water, it will flush out the toxins which will hopefully keep your skin clear.
