How often do you think about all the blessings you are thankful for in life? Do you thank God daily for all the blessings he has given you? Living a life being grateful will improve your life.
From Stressed to Grateful and Blessed
In March, I went to a Tony Robbins seminar. Tony Robbins is a life success coach. During this seminar we did an exercise that I loved and I still do it today. I think it is a great exercise for you to do too. This is what you need to do. Stand up, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Now think about something that stresses you out. Next place your hands on your heart. Take another deep breath. Now think about 3 things in your life that make you happy. Hopefully you are standing there with your eyes closed, your hands on your heart and a smile on your face. The last step is to think of 3 things in your life that you are grateful for. Ok, you can open your eyes now.
How are you feeling about whatever it was that had you stressed out? Hopefully, you realize that the thing that stressed you out really doesn’t matter. It is so tiny in comparison to what makes you happy and everything you have to be grateful for in life. After I did this exercise for the first time, I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. To this day, I feel free.
Write It Down
I know that life keeps us so busy and at times we may feel like the world is against us. During times like this, we may not remember things to be grateful for. I think it is a great idea to write down things you are thankful for when they happen. Here are a few examples of things you may write down:
- Your husband tells you that you are beautiful
- A neighbor helps you out
- You spend the holiday with family
- Your child tells you they love you
The reason I think this is a good idea is because, when you are having bad days, you can look at what you wrote down previously and it will make you feel better. It will make you realize how blessed you are in life.
Here is a glass jar I recently bought. I can write down what I am grateful for on pieces of paper and put the paper slips in the jar. On my bad days, I can read the slips of paper to remind myself that I am beyond blessed.
